My Return as a Printmaker

I spent decades as a professional fine art silkscreen printer. When I gave up my print shop in 2000, I did not realize how deeply I would regret the loss of it.

In 2025—working with a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-2600, a laser cutter, and a powerful computer system I assembled myself—I finally got my shop back.

These prints are made entirely in-house, on archival substrates, with pigment inks chosen for permanence and fidelity. The process matters to me. Having the tools under my own roof matters to me.

There are things silkscreen still does that digital printing cannot—metallics, glitter, certain physical effects—but the quality, permanence, and expressive range of modern pigment printing no longer feel like a compromise.

I never thought this day would come, but it has.
